Martin Family Reunion =

I forgot to post these way back in July. The Martin’s had a family reunion. No one made fun of me for playing wiffleball like rounders and I drank all the root beer I wanted. All in all, total success.
Here’s Jason’s girl, Brianna, and Grandma Martin checking out some old pictures;

The sustenance:

Julian needing a rest and yelling at Andy’s mum:

Emilie in a hammock looking for all the world like a dead sailor if you get my drift. Drift. Sailor. There’s almost a joke there, I just can’t make it:

Andy’s dad and cousin Jason:

8mm:

Martin/Wolf/Dummett boys. Julian totally looks like Billy (second from the right) when he smiles. It’s weird. Bob also see’s his dad in Julian, my mum sees me, some people see Andy. Basically, it sounds like Julian’s just a hot mess of family history.

Munch Bunch. I seriously look like a third wheel here for some reason. I’m really not that awkward with the in-law family.

That’s it.

Somehow, all the photos I took ended up looking like close-ups of the deep seas freakiest crevice-lurking creatures.

Andy took some more thematic shots which I will post later. But for now. Happy belated 4th.

Andy raised a good point: why do filmmakers insist on putting Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son” to any scene with a hint of patriotism? The song’s not exactly patriotic in the traditional sense of the word. It’s like the soundtrack guy just googled ‘RED, WHITE, AND BLUE’ and went with whatever song came up first.

This is Andy. In case you’re wondering, Naomi may not be posting for a while because she’s kind of in labor right now. The contractions aren’t super close, but they’re hitting hard.
Anyway, I’ll let you know if I hear a baby crying. In the meantime, back to Nintendo…

The other day we went up the Pike. You could see over to Liverpool and Blackpool.

I can’t really explain the Utah’ded hair (wind?) but I can explain my pained expression in the photo above by showing you this one:

You try climbing that hillside in stupidly inappropriate clothing while carrying a one tonne bump and then look pleasant. Even though I was the one person out of the four of us who knew what The Pike entailed, I somehow dressed as if I were going grocery shopping. All the people walking dogs and wearing hiking boots must have thought I was bananas. We had a good time anyways though. The weather was so great for walking and exploring in. Thing is, I’m not a mountain goat at the best of times, so being this round made descending slippy, muddy trails in 3 inch heels quite the feat. Then I remembered seeing Suzie Cook hiking the Y at like, 9 months pregnant and felt like a total wuss.

Easter Eggs! I did not realise how difficult it was to blow eggs. It’s been a while. I about burst my brain trying to get my egg empty.

Mine’s the one with the swimming-hat on! Andy’s is the super neat one, bottom right, Biery’s is top-left with some hearts on it, and Abbey tipped her hat to holidays by doing a St. George. It was kind of a finicky project.
Anyway. I hope you have a good Easter. I’d like to post something more meaningful on topic, but I don’t think I can say anything these talks don’t:
