This is Andy topping his side of our Pizza. When we make pizza, my half is often littered with green things and the occasional pineapple, but since Andy abhors anything green (and apparently he’s one of those people who thinks pineapple of pizza is wrong) he just strategically arranges pepperoni on his half and tries to appease the dietary need for vegetables by adding 1-5 diced bits of pepper.

Arson Car reunited the other weekend for a little reunion show. Arson car are a a bit before my time, so the show was probably a less nostalgic event for me than everyone else in attendance, but it was still good.

I woke up with the Bananaman theme stuck in my head. I suppose that’s an upgrade from yesterday’s inane chorus of the “Trio” song. Who knows if Trio’s even still exist. One thing I have realised, coming to America, was that British people love biscuits (I’m thinking Clubs, Trios, Penguins) and American’s either do not love biscuits or don’t make them because they are too busy making Fruit Roll-Ups and Gushers. Probably the latter.
Another transatlantic difference I’ve been noting lately is the use of text speak. I posted about it a while ago. It makes sense2txt lyk ths whn ur paying 10p a txt. But I’ve noticed recently, that lots of English people use text speak on facebook. On the internet. Where there are no charges for going over a 141 character limit. I’m not really sure what they’re achieving by doing this, other than a lulling themselves into illiteracy. Anyway, I’ve been noticing this text speak all over the place on facebook newsfeeds, but only coming from my English friends. When I check my facebook in the morning at work, there’s a deluge of English people’s status updates (stuff like “h8n wrk, 1hr 2go til pub xxx”), and then if I check it in the afternoon, it’s evolved into American people’s updates, which often have capital letters and no abbreviations. I’m not sure how to account for this difference other than to suggest that maybe text speak somehow got translated into e-speak, which will potentially become reality-spack.
The reason why I bring this up is because I’ve been noticing a lot of text abbreviations that I’m unfamiliar with. Like “PMSL” or “LMFFO” on these facebook status updates. I’d assumed up until reading these abbreviations that I was kind of e-savvy with text talk and all that but it turns out that I’m not text savvy at all, I don’t even know what PMSL means. I’m proper behind, and proving to be somewhat of a e-grandma. Before you know it, I will be referring to the internet as something for “the kids” and starting sentences with “In my day”.
Since I brought up The Internet, Facebook Statuses and the likes, I should mention Bret and Justin’s podcast, which is rather amusing. Andy and I started listening to them last night but then I had to pull the plug because I needed to try and de-nocturnalise in preparation for the work week (our house is empty so the only place to sit comfortably and do something is on our bed which is where I was trying to go to sleep, and even though the noise from the podcast didnt keep me up because Andy put headphones on after I called it a night, Andy kept laughing, which disturbed my attempts to sleep).
You can find links to download the podcast at www.combustion-injun.com. As a heads up, it would probably get the 15 rating for language.

To break up the monotony of my boring office day, Andy sometimes emails me pictures of what him and Moses are up to at home (usually studying). It’s charitable of him since it cheers me up and I know he’s not a fan of self-photography. The pictures usually consist of Andy AND Moses, because Moses follows Andy around all the time. He even sits on Andy’s lap while Andy uses the computer. Like so:
