American Gays Offended by British Advert….

July 31st, 2008 — 08:48 pm

And consequently it gets pulled off air?! Firstly, where do American Gays get off telling Britsh TV what to do? And come on – All the adverts is saying is that speed-walkers look like pansies when they walk – hello, have you SEEN someone speed-walk before?! Man or woman, you’ll look like an idiot speed-walking. No one’s saying homosexuals are pansies, they just thought that up themselves. If anything, it should be the speed-walkers flipping out for being called pansies. (Unless homosexuals are willing to admit that they associate themselves with the pansies Mr. T assualts for not being real men. In which case, are they saying they aren’t real men?) If that had been Mr. T chucking Snickers at a caucasian saying he ‘walked like a white-boy’, no one would have batted an eye. All these PC Crybabies drive me nuts.

I don’t know where I stand on free speech. Sure, I think everyone has the right to state how they feel, but I reckon they should something to back up why they feel that way. Maybe I think that people are only entitled to free speech if they at least have a vague idea of what they’re on about.

I’m well fed up with this rubbish. The school enforces the “no jewelery” rule because when students get their bracelets stuck on doorhandles and break their wrists, get in fights and their earring gets ripped out of an ear, or their Argos-bought-tin-man-with-birthstone-eyes necklace gets caught on a coat hanger and they hurt their necks – and wind up dogging on the school. It’s for their own good. It’s not like requesting permission to wear a longer uniform skirt for modesty, or even a headdress – those things are practically mandated by some religions. But the Kara is not, its optional, and so she can jolly well keep her kara in her bag until 3:15pm every day. These stupid kids just want to make a huge fuss and get peer props for trying to make their school look bad.
While we’re talking about stupidity in schools, have a peep at this.

Social Network Profile Complaint II

July 29th, 2008 — 08:52 pm

Favourite Movies
“The deleted scene from Little Miss Sunshine
“The opening scene from Everything About My Mother

Favourite Music
“The musical ambiance of Thom Yorke”
“The lyrics from Andrew Bird’s debut album”

Err…

Maybe detail ridden phrases are designed to make one sound like they know a vast quantity of music/media well – so well infact, that they have preference in verse, line, lyric, soundtrack, soundbite, or scene, but to me, it just sounds like the individual couldn’t think of a single whole movie they were into, so they just ran through what they had seen and picked out stuff they appreciated. Come to think of it though, that might be easier on the eyes than 3ft long lists of cult classics, art director name drops, or made up genres like ‘eastern-euro abstract culture clash’.

Fish Feature II

July 26th, 2008 — 04:53 pm

Andy caught a huge fish in the canyon. The fish munched the hook so hard, neither Andy or Tyson could extract it from his face, so they ended up bringing the slimy beast home. To our porch. And our kitchen. On our cookie sheets. In our tin-foil. Baking in our over. Slathered in butter. Eugh.
